Claire's Excellent Wedding - Canada

Lightning fast visit trip to Canada for Claire and Cam’s wedding and to see all the family who had congregated there. So there was no time for sightseeing; however after nine months of backpacking that suited me just fine. It was great catching up with everyone again – some of whom I hadn't seen in 20 years and none of whom since leaving home.
After all my recent flights where we have had to fight through the crowds waiting for their arrivals and having nobody to meet us and a 24 hour journey, I was utterly overwhelmed to find all my family waiting for me.
There were about 22 of us staying at my aunt and uncle’s house so the week flew by in a haze of socialising with North American quantities of food and alcohol. My 15 month old cousin - Joe was also there - he is sooo cute.
The wedding itself was perfect. The weather was glorious after a dubious start to the day; the bride and groom looked gorgeous – as if there was ever any doubt that they would, as those of you who have met Claire will have realised and were floating around on cloud nine pretty much the whole time; the ceremony itself was beautiful, and performed by my Uncle Phil who had flown in from the Vatican – handy to have your own family priest.
The reception was a held in a large marquee in the “yard” of the Cam’s parents’ house – the yard being a garden of several acres. Excellent food was supplemented by a free bar and disco and the partying didn’t stop until the very early hours.
It was strange to wear a dress again after so long and I even managed to teeter down the aisle in high heels without falling over.
All in all a wonderful time was had
by all, and I can’t wait for the next family get together!
